Doc Convert scanned pages to an Document

COLD:
Acronym for Computer Output Laser Disk. Taking the output from a computer, i.e. Invoices, Purchases Orders, Checks or Data from Production Control System, and archiving in its raw format as it is output.

Data:
A component of factual information.

Data Centric:
The process of managing and archiving digital data by attaching files to existing database records

Digital Data Management:
The organization, management, archiving, and retrieving of all forms of digital data for virtually every business situation - regardless of their file type. In short, the user does not need to worry about whether the file type is .doc, .jpg, .pic, .xls, or whatever.

Document:

a. A written or printed paper that bears the original, official, or legal form of something and can be used to furnish decisive evidence or information.
b. Something, such as a recording or a photograph that can be used to furnish evidence or information.
c. A writing that contains information.

File Centric:
The process of managing and archiving digital data by grouping various files in a single file folder.

ISIS:

Acronym for Image and Scanner Interface Specification. An open standard for scanner control and complete image-processing framework. ISIS is supported by a large number of application and scanner vendors. ISIS is a de facto standard that allows application developers to build complex image capture systems.

Knowledge(1):

1. The state or fact of knowing. 2. Familiarity, awareness, or understanding gained through experience or study. 3. The sum or range of what has been perceived discovered or learned. 4. Learning; erudition: men of knowledge. 5. Specific information about something.

Knowledge Management:
In our opinion, an Oxymoron. Knowledge cannot be managed any more than ones thoughts can be managed. We can manage information and by so doing we inspire knowledge in all that share the information.

OCR:
Acronym for Optical Character Recognition. The ability of software to recognize and translate printed alphanumeric characters into machine-readable text.

STI:
Still Image class in the Windows Driver Mode (WDM) architecture. The class of filters that deal with still-image capture. A WDM STI minidriver provides support for still-image devices under the WDM still-image architecture.

TIFF:
Tagged Image File Format. The type of compression or standard used to store a file.

TWAIN:
Acronym for Technology Without An Interesting Name. The de facto standard interface between software applications and image-capturing devices such as scanners. Nearly all scanners contain a TWAIN driver, but only TWAIN-compatible software can use the technology.
